One of my favourite independent clothes stores in London, Present was founded in 2009 by Eddie Prendergast and Steve Davies and stocks a cool, contemporary and carefully selected range of British and American brands such as Filson, Trickers and Brooks Brothers. It also offers a range of magazines, accessories and lifestyle products and a rather cool coffee bar, which makes the experience even more pleasurable.
2. Dover Street Market
17-18 Dover Street, London, W1S 4LT
This mini department store was launched by Rei Kawakubo of Japanese fashion label Comme Des Garcons and is one of the world's best fashion stores. The marketplace showcases both established and new names in the world of fashion, such as McQueen, the complete Comme collections, Saint Laurent, Thom Browne and the new Kanye West/APC collaboration. This store is a work of art in itself; head for the Rose Café on the top floor for tea and cake.
3. Son of a Stag
9 Dray Walk, London, E1 6QL
This cool specialist denim store is situated just off of East London's trendy Brick Lane. One of the best independent stores for denim to be found anywhere, it stocks cult brands such as Edwin, Lee, Red Wing and other sought after Japanese and American names. A must-see for denim lovers.
4. b Store
24A Savile Row, London, W1S 3PR
b Store was launched in 2001 to showcase the best in emerging designers. Since then the store, which sits on London's most famous tailoring street, Savile Row, has gone from strength to strength. Stocking the latest collaborations and designers in footwear and clothing, as well as brand new graduate designers from schools such as St Martins, this trendy store also stocks art books and displays installations.
5. Bill Amberg **This store is now closed**

Tucked away in a little corner of Mayfair, craftsman Bill Amberg has been designing simple, understated and elegant leather bags and accessories for many years. He is a perfectionist and knows all there is to know about texture and quality. This little store stocks the entire collection and all of Bill's bags and accessories are designed and made in England or Spain.

6. Gieves and Hawkes
1 Savile Row, London, W1S 3JR
Inhabiting the prestigious address that is number 1 Savile Row, Gieves and Hawkes has been creating the finest bespoke suits, shirts and menswear for over 200 years. This store offers bespoke, private tailoring and ready to wear in a magnificent building. The place for that once-in-a-lifetime bespoke suit.

LN-CC (it stands for the rather charming Late Night Chameleon Café) is an evolving art space that includes a record store, library, gallery and club space. It also showcases designers including Maison Martin Margiela, Raf Simons, Rick Owens and many more new and emerging names. The store is an experience in itself and operates on an appointment only basis.
8. Emma Willis
66 Jermyn Street, London, SW1Y 6NY
The only female bespoke shirt maker on Jermyn Street in the St James's area of London. This fabulous store stocks the finest luxury ready made shirts, ties, cashmere socks and accessories and is the place to go for a bespoke shirt in London — not to mention the best advice on which shirts, fabrics and styles will suit you.

An independent British label first launched in 2006, Albam has four stores around London, the original and best in central Beak Street. A simple, understated and quality aesthetic ensure that all of its styles are contemporary and cool yet wearable. Albam threads are proving a big success with London's stylish young men.
10. Alexander McQueen
9 Savile Row, London, W1S 3PF
This newly opened store on Savile Row offers the full menswear collection and a bespoke and made to measure tailoring service. Sarah Burton, the Creative Director of the label has taken over where Lee McQueen with a dynamic energy that can only be found in London.
